Welcome to Day 20
Confidence is something many women spend their lives searching for.
Some believe confidence comes from appearance.
Others believe it comes from education, accomplishments, financial success, relationships, or the approval of others.
For a while, those things may make us feel secure.
But what happens when circumstances change?
What happens when we lose the job?
When the children leave home?
When our appearance changes with age?
When criticism comes?
When our plans fall apart?
If our confidence is built on temporary things, it will rise and fall with life’s circumstances.
God offers us something far more secure.
He offers confidence that is rooted not in who we are by ourselves, but in who we are because we belong to Him.
Today we are learning that true confidence is not arrogance, pride, or pretending to have everything together.
True confidence is quietly trusting that God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in your life.
Confidence Begins With Knowing Whose You Are
Long before you ever accomplished anything…
Before you earned a degree…
Before you became a wife…
Before you became a mother…
Before you started a business…
Before anyone applauded your success…
You already belonged to God.
Your identity has never depended on your performance.
It has always rested in His love.
Many women spend years trying to prove their worth.
We strive.
We overwork.
We overcommit.
We chase perfection because deep inside we hope someone will finally say,
“You are enough.”
But God settled that question at the cross.
Through Jesus Christ you are fully loved.
Fully forgiven.
Fully accepted.
Nothing you accomplish can make God love you more.
Nothing you fail to accomplish can make Him love you less.
When your confidence is rooted in His love, you are no longer controlled by the opinions of people.
Confidence Grows as You Trust God’s Faithfulness
Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God finishes what He starts.
That means your story is still unfolding.
You may not yet be the woman you hope to become.
There may still be habits to break.
Wounds to heal.
Lessons to learn.
Dreams to pursue.
But none of that means God has abandoned His work in you.
Growth takes time.
Fruit takes time.
Healing takes time.
God is not discouraged by the process.
Neither should you be.
Every day He is patiently shaping your character, strengthening your faith, and preparing you for what lies ahead.
Stop Letting Fear Tell Your Story
Fear has a way of making us shrink.
It whispers:
“Stay quiet.”
“Don’t try.”
“You’ll fail.”
“People will judge you.”
“You’re not good enough.”
Fear keeps many women living beneath the life God has prepared for them.
Faith, however, speaks differently.
Faith says:
“God will be with me.”
“His grace is enough.”
“I don’t have to know everything today.”
“I can trust Him one step at a time.”
Confidence in Christ doesn’t mean you never feel afraid.
It means fear no longer gets to make your decisions.
You Don’t Have to Compare Your Journey
Comparison is one of the quickest ways to lose confidence.
When we constantly measure ourselves against someone else’s gifts, appearance, achievements, or calling, we begin overlooking the beautiful work God is doing in our own lives.
God never intended for His daughters to compete with one another.
He created each of us with unique gifts and assignments.
Your calling is different because your story is different.
Your personality is different.
Your experiences are different.
God’s plan for your life is uniquely yours.
Celebrate the gifts He has given others while remaining faithful to the work He has placed before you.
There is room for every woman God has called.
Confidence Is Built Through Daily Obedience
Many people believe confidence appears first and obedience follows.
Scripture often shows the opposite.
Confidence grows as we obey.
Every time you pray instead of panic…
Choose forgiveness instead of bitterness…
Speak truth instead of believing lies…
Serve even when no one notices…
Take one step toward the dream God placed in your heart…
Your confidence grows.
Not because you become stronger on your own.
But because you experience God’s faithfulness again and again.
Faith is strengthened by practice.
The more you trust Him, the more you discover He is trustworthy.
Confidence Walks With Humility
Biblical confidence is never pride.
Pride says,
“Look what I have accomplished.”
Confidence says,
“Look what God has done.”
Humility doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself.
It means thinking of yourself the way God does.
You acknowledge your weaknesses without allowing them to define you.
You recognize your gifts without becoming prideful.
You remain teachable.
You remain grateful.
You remain dependent upon God’s strength.
This kind of confidence brings peace because it is built upon His character rather than your own abilities.
God Is Still Writing Your Story
Perhaps today you feel as though you’ve fallen behind.
Maybe life has not unfolded the way you imagined.
Perhaps you’ve experienced disappointment, setbacks, or unexpected detours.
Remember this:
God has not abandoned the story He is writing.
Every chapter has purpose.
Every season has meaning.
Even the difficult pages can become testimonies of His faithfulness.
The same God who carried you through yesterday is already waiting in your tomorrow.
Your best days are not behind you simply because the journey has been difficult.
God is still working.
He is still leading.
He is still transforming.
And He will complete what He has begun.
Reflection Questions
Spend a few quiet moments with the Lord today.
- What has my confidence been rooted in recently—God or my circumstances?
- What fears have been limiting the life God is inviting me to live?
- How has God proven His faithfulness to me in previous seasons?
- In what area is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply today?
- What step of faith can I take this week as an expression of confidence in Christ?
Today’s Affirmation
My confidence is rooted in Christ alone. I am fully loved, fully accepted, and continually transformed by God’s grace. I choose to trust His faithfulness instead of my fears, knowing that He who began a good work in me will faithfully complete it.
Today’s Action Step
Find a quiet place and write down five ways God has been faithful to you over the past year.
Then write one area where fear has been holding you back.
Pray over that fear and surrender it to God.
Choose one practical step you can take this week that demonstrates trust instead of fear.
It may be making a phone call, submitting an application, starting the project, having a difficult conversation, or simply praying with greater confidence.
Remember that courageous faith is often built one obedient step at a time.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me with an everlasting love and for giving me a confidence that is rooted in Your faithfulness rather than my own abilities.
Forgive me for the times I have looked to people, achievements, or circumstances to determine my worth. Help me remember that my identity is secure because I belong to You.
When fear tries to silence me, remind me that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Strengthen my faith so that I may walk boldly wherever You lead me.
Teach me to trust Your work within me, even when I cannot yet see the finished picture. Give me courage to obey You one step at a time and wisdom to remain humble as You continue shaping my life.
May my confidence always point others to You and reflect the goodness, grace, and faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
Thank You for never giving up on me and for faithfully completing the work You have begun.
