30 Days to Becoming Her Best Self: Seeing Yourself the Way God Sees You
Key Scripture
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14 (NIV)

Welcome to Day 26
There is a beautiful point in our growth when we begin to realize:
What God is doing in me is not only for me.
Every lesson.
Every healing season.
Every prayer God answered.
Every difficult season He carried you through.
Every mistake He redeemed.
Every truth He taught you.
Every time He helped you get back up when you thought you could not continue.
God can use all of it.
Throughout this journey, we have talked about becoming the woman God created you to be. We have focused on identity, healing, confidence, boundaries, purpose, faith, joy, peace, and learning to trust God.
But becoming your best self was never meant to end with simply becoming a happier or stronger version of yourself.
God transforms us so that our lives can ultimately point others toward Him.
Jesus said:
“You are the light of the world.”
Notice He didn’t say:
“One day, when you have everything together, you might become a light.”
He said:
“You are.”
Right now.
In your home.
In your family.
In your friendships.
In your workplace.
In your community.
In your ordinary everyday life.
You carry something this world desperately needs.
The light of Christ.
You Do Not Have to Be Perfect to Be a Light
Sometimes we believe God can only use us after we have completely healed, accomplished all our goals, overcome every weakness, and figured everything out.
But if perfection were required before God could use someone, none of us would ever be useful.
God has always worked through imperfect people.
Moses struggled with insecurity.
David made serious mistakes.
Peter denied Jesus.
Paul had a painful past.
Yet God used each of their lives powerfully.
Your imperfections do not automatically disqualify you from making a difference.
In fact, sometimes the places where you have struggled become the very places where you can offer someone else compassion.
The woman who has experienced heartbreak can sit beside another brokenhearted woman and say:
“I understand.”
The woman who has survived a difficult season can tell someone else:
“Keep going. God carried me, and He will carry you too.”
The woman who has made mistakes can extend grace instead of judgment.
The woman who has experienced God’s restoration can become living evidence that failure does not have to be the end of the story.
You do not need a perfect testimony.
You simply need a willing heart.
Your Light Often Shines in Ordinary Places
When we think about making an impact, we sometimes imagine something enormous.
A ministry.
A platform.
A business.
A book.
A large audience.
A public calling.
God may certainly use those things.
But some of the most important ministry you will ever do may happen where no one applauds.
It may happen around your kitchen table.
In the way you speak to your children.
In the encouragement you give a friend.
In the meal you prepare for someone who is struggling.
In the prayer you whisper over your family.
In the patience you show someone having a difficult day.
In the kindness you offer a stranger.
In the way you forgive.
In the way you refuse to participate in gossip.
In the way you remain peaceful when everyone else is panicking.
In the way you treat people who can do absolutely nothing for you.
Do not underestimate ordinary faithfulness.
Small acts of love can carry enormous amounts of light.
Your Home Is One of the First Places Your Light Should Shine
Sometimes it is easier to be kind to strangers than to the people we live with.
We can smile at everyone outside the house and then come home exhausted, frustrated, and impatient.
But one of the greatest places we can reflect Christ is inside our own homes.
Your family does not need perfection from you.
They need authenticity.
Grace.
Prayer.
Encouragement.
Love.
Forgiveness.
Humility.
Sometimes becoming a light in your home means apologizing when you were wrong.
Sometimes it means choosing not to respond harshly.
Sometimes it means praying before reacting.
Sometimes it means creating an atmosphere where your family feels safe, loved, and welcomed.
Your children may forget many of the things you bought them.
But they will remember how home felt.
They will remember whether they heard prayer.
Whether they experienced forgiveness.
Whether they saw you get back up after difficult seasons.
Whether they watched you trust God.
Your faith can become part of the legacy you leave behind.
Your Story Can Give Someone Else Hope
There may be parts of your story you once wished you could erase.
Painful chapters.
Mistakes.
Disappointments.
Failures.
Seasons you would never willingly choose to repeat.
But God has a remarkable ability to redeem what we thought was wasted.
Your story may eventually become someone else’s survival guide.
Not because you have every answer.
But because you can say:
“I have been through something difficult, and God met me there.”
You don’t have to share every detail of your life publicly.
Wisdom and boundaries still matter.
But when God gives you an opportunity to encourage someone from a place you have personally walked through, don’t automatically hide your scars.
Sometimes scars are evidence that wounds can heal.
Someone may need to know:
There is life after heartbreak.
There is hope after disappointment.
There is purpose after failure.
There is peace after chaos.
There is joy after grief.
There is a new chapter after the chapter you thought would destroy you.
Your testimony does not glorify what hurt you.
It glorifies the God who brought you through it.
Encouragement Is a Ministry
Never underestimate the power of encouraging another person.
We live in a world where people are constantly criticized.
Compared.
Judged.
Ignored.
Dismissed.
Sometimes a few sincere words can completely change someone’s day.
Imagine becoming the kind of woman who intentionally looks for opportunities to build others up.
Instead of noticing only what is wrong, notice what is good.
Tell someone:
“I see how hard you’re trying.”
“I’m proud of the progress you’re making.”
“You handled that with so much grace.”
“I’m praying for you.”
“Don’t give up.”
“God is not finished with your story.”
Words carry tremendous power.
Use yours to bring life.
You Can Shine Without Competing
One of the signs of spiritual growth is learning to celebrate someone else’s light without believing it diminishes your own.
Another woman’s success does not mean there is less opportunity for you.
Another woman’s beauty does not make you less beautiful.
Another woman’s calling does not make yours less significant.
Another woman’s blessing does not mean God has forgotten you.
You don’t have to compete with the women God has called you to encourage.
You can clap for them.
Pray for them.
Support them.
Learn from them.
Celebrate them.
There is room in God’s Kingdom for every woman to faithfully walk in the purpose He has given her.
When you know who you are, you don’t have to dim someone else’s light to make yours appear brighter.
Be the Woman Who Brings Light Into the Room
Every environment has an atmosphere.
Some people bring tension.
Some bring criticism.
Some bring gossip.
Some bring negativity.
Some bring chaos.
But imagine becoming the woman whose presence brings something different.
Peace.
Wisdom.
Kindness.
Joy.
Faith.
Encouragement.
Hope.
Not because you are pretending everything is wonderful.
But because you have learned where your hope comes from.
When someone complains, you don’t have to join the negativity.
When someone gossips, you don’t have to participate.
When someone is afraid, you can offer encouragement.
When someone is hurting, you can listen.
When someone feels forgotten, you can remind them they matter.
You may never fully know how many lives God touches through small moments of obedience.
Sometimes Being a Light Means Telling the Truth
Being a light does not mean agreeing with everything.
Love and truth are not enemies.
Jesus was compassionate, but He also spoke truth.
Sometimes loving someone means encouraging them.
Sometimes loving someone means gently telling them something they may not want to hear.
Sometimes being a light means refusing to participate in behavior you know dishonors God.
Sometimes it means standing firm when others pressure you to compromise.
The goal is not to become harsh or self-righteous.
The goal is to speak truth with grace.
Before correcting someone, ask:
Is this necessary?
Is this my responsibility to address?
Am I speaking from love or irritation?
Have I prayed first?
Will my words point this person toward God or simply prove that I am right?
Light exposes darkness, but Christlike light also offers a path toward hope.
Your Light Needs a Source
There is something important we must remember:
You cannot continually pour into others without allowing God to pour into you.
You are not the source of the light.
Christ is.
That means you must stay connected to Him.
Pray.
Read His Word.
Worship.
Rest.
Spend time in His presence.
Allow Him to refill you.
If you constantly give without receiving from God, eventually you will become spiritually and emotionally exhausted.
You do not have to save everyone.
You are not anyone’s Messiah.
Jesus already holds that position.
Your responsibility is simply to remain close to Him and faithfully reflect His love wherever He sends you.
Stop Hiding What God Put Inside You
Some women have spent years shrinking themselves.
They have remained quiet because they feared criticism.
Hidden their gifts because they feared failure.
Avoided opportunities because they felt unqualified.
Stayed in the background because someone once convinced them they weren’t capable.
But Jesus said:
“A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”
There comes a point when humility must not be confused with hiding.
Humility says:
“Everything good in me comes from God.”
Hiding says:
“I refuse to use what God gave me because I am afraid.”
If God gave you a gift, use it.
If He gave you wisdom, share it.
If He gave you compassion, serve.
If He gave you creativity, create.
If He gave you a testimony, allow Him to use it.
If He gave you a dream, prayerfully pursue it.
You do not need everyone’s approval.
You need the courage to faithfully steward what God placed within you.
Someone Is Watching How You Walk Through This Season
You may not realize who is learning from your life.
Perhaps your children are watching.
A friend.
A sister.
A coworker.
Another mother.
Someone following your journey quietly.
They may be watching how you respond to disappointment.
How you rebuild after failure.
How you trust God while waiting.
How you forgive.
How you set boundaries.
How you begin again.
How you continue believing after hardship.
Your life does not need to say:
“Look how strong I am.”
Let it say:
“Look how faithful God has been.”
That is the kind of light that draws people toward Him.
Becoming Her Is Bigger Than You
Throughout this series, we have been talking about becoming her—the woman God created you to become.
But becoming her is not simply about looking better, achieving more, becoming more confident, or creating the perfect life.
It is about transformation.
God heals you so you can love differently.
He teaches you so you can teach others.
He comforts you so you can comfort someone else.
He strengthens you so you can help strengthen others.
He gives you wisdom so you can use it responsibly.
He restores your hope so that eventually you can tell someone else:
“Don’t give up.”
Your growth creates a ripple effect.
A transformed woman can influence a home.
A transformed home can influence children.
Those children can influence another generation.
One obedient life can touch more people than we will ever fully understand.
Reflection Questions
Spend some quiet time with God and reflect honestly:
- Where has God currently placed me to be a light?
- Is there someone in my life who needs encouragement right now?
- What part of my testimony could God use to give someone else hope?
- Have fear, insecurity, or comparison caused me to hide a gift God has given me?
- Does my behavior at home reflect the same faith I show publicly?
- How can I intentionally bring more kindness, peace, and encouragement into the environments I enter?
- Am I staying close enough to God to allow Him to continually refill me?
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one person or one place where your light is especially needed.
Today’s Affirmation
I am called to be a light in this world. God can use my story, my gifts, my words, and my everyday acts of faithfulness to encourage others and bring glory to Him. I will not hide because of fear, insecurity, or comparison. I choose to shine with grace, love, truth, and humility, allowing the light of Christ within me to point others toward Him.

Today’s Action Step: Be the Light for One Person
Today, intentionally encourage one person.
Send the text.
Make the phone call.
Pray with someone.
Leave an encouraging note.
Compliment someone sincerely.
Help someone who is overwhelmed.
Share a Scripture.
Prepare something for someone going through a difficult season.
Tell someone:
“I see you.”
“I’m thinking about you.”
“I’m praying for you.”
“Keep going.”
Do not worry about doing something impressive.
Simply ask:
“God, whose life can I brighten today?”
Then pay attention.
Your opportunity may be much closer than you think.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for calling me out of darkness and allowing Your light to shine within my life. Thank You for every lesson You have taught me, every difficult season You have carried me through, and every part of my story You continue to redeem.
Help me remember that what You are doing in me is not only for me.
Use my words to encourage.
Use my hands to serve.
Use my experiences to bring hope.
Use my home to demonstrate Your love.
Use my gifts to accomplish Your purposes.
And use my life to point people toward Jesus.
Forgive me for the times fear, insecurity, comparison, or the opinions of others have caused me to hide what You placed within me.
Give me courage to faithfully use my gifts without seeking attention for myself. Keep my heart humble so that everything I accomplish brings glory back to You.
Teach me to recognize people who need encouragement. Give me compassionate eyes, listening ears, generous hands, and words filled with grace.
Help me become a woman who brings peace instead of chaos, encouragement instead of criticism, truth instead of gossip, hope instead of negativity, and love wherever I go.
Remind me that I do not have to save everyone. You are the Savior. My responsibility is simply to stay close to You and faithfully reflect Your light.
May my family see Jesus in the way I love.
May my friends see Jesus in the way I encourage.
May strangers see Jesus in the kindness I show.
And may every person You place in my path experience something of Your goodness through the way I live.
Let my life quietly testify:
God is faithful. God restores. God heals. God gives hope.
Thank You for trusting me to carry Your light.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Scripture to Memorize
Matthew 5:14 (NIV)
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”
Remember today:
You do not have to manufacture the light.
You simply have to stay close to the One who is the Light and allow His character to become increasingly visible through your life.
Tomorrow’s Journey
Day 27: Living With an Eternal Perspective
Tomorrow we will talk about learning to view our lives through the lens of eternity—recognizing that success is not simply about what we accumulate or accomplish, but about living faithfully, loving well, and investing in what truly matters to God.
Remember This Today
You do not have to have a huge platform to make a meaningful impact.
Your kitchen table can become a place of ministry.
Your words can restore hope.
Your testimony can remind someone that healing is possible.
Your kindness can make someone feel seen.
Your prayers can cover people who may never know you prayed for them.
Your faithfulness can influence generations you may never meet.
Becoming the woman God created you to be is not only about changing your life. It is about allowing God to use your transformed life to bring light into the lives of others.
So today, don’t hide.
Don’t compare.
Don’t wait until you feel perfect.
Let your light shine.
