Welcome to Day 22
Have you ever found yourself asking God, “Why?”
Why is this taking so long?
Why didn’t that relationship work out?
Why did I lose that job?
Why hasn’t my prayer been answered yet?
Why does everyone else seem to be moving forward while I feel stuck?
Every woman will eventually walk through seasons where life simply doesn’t make sense.
We make plans that fall apart.
Doors we expected to open remain closed.
Unexpected hardships interrupt carefully arranged dreams.
Sometimes God leads us down roads we never imagined traveling.
In those moments, we naturally want explanations.
We want clarity before we continue walking.
But faith often asks us to do something much harder.
Faith asks us to trust before we understand.
Today’s devotional is an invitation to loosen our grip on needing all the answers and to rest in the character of the One who already knows the end from the beginning.
God Sees What You Cannot
One of the greatest comforts of following Christ is knowing that while our vision is limited, God’s vision is complete.
We see today.
God sees tomorrow.
We see one chapter.
God sees the entire story.
We notice delays.
God sees preparation.
We experience disappointment.
God sees protection.
There are countless times when we later realize that what felt like rejection was actually God’s loving redirection.
Perhaps a job you desperately wanted would have led you away from your purpose.
Perhaps a closed door protected you from unnecessary heartache.
Perhaps the waiting season has been strengthening your character for the blessing that is still ahead.
Because God sees what we cannot, we can trust Him even when the path seems uncertain.
Faith Does Not Require Full Understanding
Many people believe they need every answer before they can move forward.
Scripture teaches something different.
Noah built the ark before rain had ever fallen.
Abraham left his homeland without knowing his destination.
Moses led Israel through the wilderness without seeing the Promised Land immediately.
Peter stepped out of the boat before he knew exactly how the next step would unfold.
Each of them obeyed without having the complete picture.
Their confidence wasn’t based on understanding every detail.
It was based on trusting God’s character.
The same invitation is extended to us today.
God isn’t asking us to understand everything.
He is asking us to trust Him.
Stop Trying to Control Every Outcome
One of the greatest obstacles to peace is our desire to control everything.
We want certainty.
Predictability.
Guarantees.
We carefully create timelines and expectations, hoping life will unfold according to our plans.
Then something unexpected happens.
Fear begins to grow.
Anxiety takes over.
We start believing that because things aren’t happening the way we planned, everything must be falling apart.
But sometimes what feels like everything falling apart is actually God putting everything together according to His perfect wisdom.
Surrender doesn’t mean giving up.
Surrender means placing your future into the hands of the One who loves you most.
Waiting Is Never Wasted
Waiting can feel uncomfortable.
It can feel lonely.
Sometimes it even feels unfair.
Yet throughout Scripture, waiting was often where God did His deepest work.
David learned dependence while waiting to become king.
Joseph developed integrity while waiting in prison.
Hannah’s faith deepened while waiting for a child.
The disciples learned patience while waiting for the Holy Spirit.
Waiting is not empty space.
Waiting is often God’s classroom.
It is where He develops perseverance, humility, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
One day you may look back and realize that the season you wanted to escape became the season that prepared you for everything that followed.
Trust Is Built One Day at a Time
Trust doesn’t usually happen all at once.
It grows through experience.
Every answered prayer reminds us that God is faithful.
Every difficult season we survive strengthens our confidence.
Every unexpected blessing reminds us that His plans truly are better than ours.
The more we remember His faithfulness yesterday, the easier it becomes to trust Him today.
When uncertainty comes, don’t only look at what you don’t know.
Remember what you do know.
You know God is good.
You know He is faithful.
You know He keeps His promises.
You know He loves you.
You know He has never abandoned His children.
Those truths become the solid foundation beneath your feet.
Keep Taking the Next Faithful Step
Sometimes we become overwhelmed because we’re trying to see the entire journey.
God rarely reveals everything at once.
Instead, He often provides just enough light for the next step.
Like a lantern on a dark path, His Word gives direction for today.
Your responsibility is not to know every detail of tomorrow.
Your responsibility is to faithfully obey Him today.
Pray today.
Trust today.
Love today.
Forgive today.
Serve today.
Take the next step He places before you.
As you continue walking with Him, He will faithfully reveal what you need exactly when you need it.
Reflection Questions
Spend some quiet time with the Lord today.
- What situation am I struggling to understand right now?
- Where have I been leaning on my own understanding instead of trusting God?
- Can I remember a time when God later revealed His purpose in a difficult season?
- What does surrender look like in my current circumstances?
- What is one faithful step I can take today, even without having every answer?
Today’s Affirmation
I choose to trust God even when I cannot see the whole picture. His wisdom is greater than my understanding, His timing is perfect, and His plans are always good. I will walk by faith instead of fear, knowing that God is faithfully directing every step of my journey.
Today’s Action Step
Write down one situation that has been causing you worry or confusion.
Beside it, write Proverbs 3:5–6.
Then write three ways God has already proven His faithfulness in your life.
Close your journal by writing this simple prayer:
“Lord, I trust You with what I cannot yet understand.”
Return to those words whenever uncertainty begins to overwhelm you.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for seeing the whole picture when I can only see a small part of the journey. Thank You that Your wisdom is perfect and that Your plans are always rooted in love.
Forgive me for the times I have allowed fear, worry, and uncertainty to become greater than my trust in You. Help me release my need to understand every detail before I choose to obey.
Teach me to rest in Your faithfulness even when the road ahead seems unclear. Give me peace when I am tempted to worry, patience when I must wait, and courage to continue taking each step You place before me.
Help me remember that every closed door, every delay, and every unexpected turn is still under Your loving care. Strengthen my faith so that I will trust Your heart even when I cannot trace Your hand.
Thank You for never leaving me and for faithfully directing my path one step at a time.
