- Clean shrimp , pat dry and season with ½ tsp salt, white pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, lemon pepper, old bay , and ¼ tsp Debbies, Caribbean soul spice. Heat olive oil and brown shrimp for 2 minutes on each side. Set aside in the same pan, add onions , garlic and bell pepper and jerk marinade, tomato paste, and sauté for 3 minutes, stirring constantly, add the carrots, and or any other vegetables like broccoli or spinach. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. Add the chicken or seafood broth and bring to a low boil. Add the orzo and butter, stir well, add the shrimp, cover and cook until orzo is tender, then squeeze lemon juice in.
