Caribbean Inspired Chili

This Caribbean Inspired Chili takes a classic comfort dish and layers it with deep island flavor. Made with ground beef and pork, fire-roasted tomatoes, hearty kidney and white beans, and a rich blend of spices — including jerk marinade and my signature Caribbean Soul Spice — this chili delivers warmth, depth, and just the right touch of heat

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. ground beef 90/10 preferably
  • ½ lb. ground pork
  • 2 celery stalk diced
  • 1 onion (diced0
  • ½ red and green bell pepper diced
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp jerk marinade divided ½ n ½
  • 1 can fire fire roasted tomatoes with garlic
  • 1 can organic tomato sauce
  • 1 large can 29oz red kidney beans (rinse- optional)
  • 1 15 oz can canaille white beans (rinse-optional)
  • 2 ½ tsp salt black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, Caribbean sazon 9regular sazon is fine) chicken seasoning
  • 1 tsp Debbies Caribbean soul spice up for sale soon
  • 2 tsp avocado oil
  • 1/3 cup hot water

Method
 

  1. Heat avocado oil on medium low heat, add onions bell peppers and celery, add ½ tsp salt, stir combine cook for 2 minutes stir constantly, add garlic and cook for 1 minute stirring well to combine, add ½ tsp of other dry seasonings (no more salt )stir well to combine. Add ground beef and stir to combine, add ground pork stir to combine using a masher to not get any lumps, add 1 tsp of dry seasoning mix and ½ tbsp jerk marinade, cook for 6 minutes stirring constantly, remove excess liquid . Add canned tomatoes, tomato sauce , stir well to combine, add both beans and stir well to combine. Add remaining ½ tsp dry seasoning mix, remaining ½ tbsp jerk Marinade and Debbies Caribbean soul spice. Mix well to combine, cover and cook on low for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
