🌸 About MeHi, I’m Debbie, the heart behind Moms Building Wealth — a faith-based space created to empower, encourage, and equip mothers to heal, grow, and thrive.
My story isn’t one of perfection — it’s one of grace, grit, and God’s unshakable love.
I grew up in a home that lacked affection and emotional safety. My father struggled with alcoholism and left when I was nine. My mother, shaped by her own painful upbringing, couldn’t give the love or care my heart longed for. From a young age, I became the caretaker — of myself, and later, of my siblings.
As a teen, I endured years of abuse that left deep emotional wounds. I carried those scars into adulthood — feeling unloved, unwanted, and unworthy. I believed my only value came from taking care of everyone else. But God had a different story for me.
Through faith, motherhood, and healing, I began to understand that my pain had a purpose.
He turned my brokenness into beauty, my shame into strength, and my silence into a message.
There were moments when I didn’t think I could make it — moments when the weight of life felt unbearable. I faced health battles that doctors said I wouldn’t survive, seasons of single motherhood, and countless nights of tears and prayer.
But every time I reached my breaking point, God met me there.
He became my healer, my provider, my peace.
Through His grace, I learned to love differently — to hug my children often, to say “I love you” freely, and to apologize when I’m wrong.
Those small acts of love became seeds of healing, not just for me, but for my family.
Moms Building Wealth was born out of my desire to help other mothers discover the freedom I found — spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
It’s more than a blog; it’s a movement of faith-filled mothers who are learning to:
I believe that when a mother heals, she changes generations.
And when she’s equipped — with faith, wisdom, and resources — she doesn’t just build wealth; she builds legacy.
To empower mothers to rise above pain, embrace their God-given identity, and build lives rooted in faith, healing, and abundance.
Because every mom deserves to live her best, most fulfilled life — and raise children who do the same.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me in the kitchen creating Caribbean-inspired dishes, designing printables for moms, or sipping tea while journaling gratitude.
