30 Days to Becoming Her Best Self: Seeing Yourself the Way God Sees You

Welcome to Day 28
What will happen next?
It is a question most of us have asked at some point.
What will happen with my family?
Will the dream in my heart ever become reality?
Will my finances improve?
Will the door I have been praying for finally open?
Will my children be okay?
Will my marriage become stronger?
Will the plans I have been making work out?
Am I making the right decision?
What if something unexpected happens?
The future can be exciting, but it can also be one of the greatest sources of fear.
We like certainty.
We like plans.
We like knowing where the road leads before we begin walking.
But God rarely gives us the entire map.
Instead, He gives us something better.
His presence.
Throughout this 30-day journey, you have been learning to see yourself differently.
You have been learning that your identity is not determined by your past.
You have learned to guard your heart, release people-pleasing, trust God’s timing, walk in purpose, embrace transformation, choose joy, walk by faith, receive God’s peace, become a light to others, and focus on what matters eternally.
Now comes another important step:
Trusting God with the woman you are still becoming and the future you cannot yet see.
You Don’t Need to Know Everything That Comes Next
There is something uncomfortable about uncertainty.
Our minds naturally want to fill in the blanks.
When we don’t know what will happen, we begin imagining possibilities.
Unfortunately, fear usually writes the worst version of the story.
What if I fail?
What if the money doesn’t come?
What if the opportunity disappears?
What if my plans don’t work?
What if something happens to someone I love?
What if I make the wrong decision?
But faith asks a different question:
“What if God is already there?”
Before you arrive at tomorrow, God is there.
Before you face next month’s challenge, God is there.
Before you encounter the opportunity you don’t yet know exists, God is there.
Before you need tomorrow’s wisdom, provision, strength, or grace, God is already preparing what you will need.
You do not have to know everything about your future.
You only need to know the One who holds it.
Planning Is Wise—But Control Is an Illusion
Trusting God with your future does not mean refusing to plan.
Scripture repeatedly encourages wisdom, diligence, preparation, and stewardship.
Make the budget.
Create the plan.
Set the goal.
Save the money.
Build the business.
Prepare for the opportunity.
Learn the skill.
Make responsible decisions.
But hold your plans with open hands.
Proverbs 16:9 reminds us:
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
There is a difference between planning responsibly and believing we can control every outcome.
You can prepare faithfully while still saying:
“Lord, this is what I am planning, but I want Your will more than I want my plan.”
That is surrender.
Sometimes God’s Redirection Is Protection
Most of us have experienced a closed door we did not understand.
You prayed.
Prepared.
Believed.
Hoped.
And still, the answer seemed to be no.
Perhaps the relationship ended.
The opportunity disappeared.
The job went to someone else.
The business idea didn’t work.
The timeline changed.
The plan fell apart.
In those moments, it can feel like God has forgotten us.
But sometimes what feels like rejection is actually redirection.
And sometimes redirection is protection.
There may be things God sees that you cannot.
People you haven’t met.
Conversations you haven’t heard.
Circumstances that haven’t developed.
Consequences you cannot predict.
You only see the door.
God sees what is behind it.
Learning to trust God means believing that His wisdom remains good even when His answer is different from the one you wanted.
A Delay Does Not Mean God Has Forgotten You
Waiting can make us question God’s faithfulness.
When months become years, it is easy to wonder:
“Lord, did You forget?”
But God’s silence is not necessarily His absence.
His delay is not necessarily His denial.
There are seasons when God is working in places you cannot see.
Preparing circumstances.
Changing hearts.
Developing your character.
Increasing your wisdom.
Teaching you patience.
Removing distractions.
Strengthening your faith.
Sometimes you are waiting for the blessing while God is preparing you to carry the blessing well.
You may not understand the season while you are living through it.
But one day you may look backward and realize:
God was working the entire time.
Do Not Compare Your Timeline
One of the fastest ways to become anxious about your future is to compare it with someone else’s present.
She bought the house.
She got married.
Her business grew.
She received the opportunity.
Her children reached the milestone.
Her prayer seems to have been answered.
And suddenly you begin asking:
“What about me?”
But another woman’s blessing is not evidence of God’s neglect toward you.
Her timeline is not your deadline.
You do not know everything God is doing in her life.
And she does not know everything God is preparing in yours.
Comparison creates artificial deadlines God never gave you.
You begin believing:
I should have accomplished this by now.
I should be further ahead.
I should already have that.
But who established the should?
God’s timing cannot be measured against someone else’s journey.
Stay faithful to your assignment.
Trust God With Your Dreams
There may be dreams you have carried for years.
Perhaps you want to build something.
Start something.
Write something.
Serve somewhere.
Create a peaceful home.
Build financial security.
Travel.
Help others.
Strengthen your family.
Leave a legacy.
There is nothing wrong with dreaming.
Dreams can become powerful seeds of purpose when surrendered to God.
But sometimes we hold dreams so tightly that they become demands.
We begin telling God exactly how the dream must happen.
When.
Where.
Through whom.
And what it must look like.
Surrender says:
“God, I believe You placed desires within my heart, but I trust You enough to shape them, redirect them, expand them, or even replace them if You know something better.”
That kind of surrender requires faith.
But it also brings tremendous freedom.
Trust God With Your Family
For many women, our greatest worries about the future are not even about ourselves.
They are about the people we love.
Our children.
Our spouse.
Our parents.
Our grandchildren.
We want to protect them.
Guide them.
Keep them from pain.
Help them make wise decisions.
And sometimes we carry a responsibility God never gave us:
trying to control their future.
You can pray.
Teach.
Encourage.
Advise.
Set boundaries where appropriate.
Model wisdom.
Love faithfully.
But eventually, you must place the people you love into God’s hands.
You cannot accompany your children into every room they will enter.
But God can.
You cannot predict every decision your family will make.
But God already knows.
Sometimes the most powerful prayer is:
“Lord, I trust You with the people I love.”
Trust God With Your Finances
Financial uncertainty can make the future feel frightening.
Bills.
Housing.
Food.
Emergencies.
Retirement.
Debt.
Business expenses.
Children’s needs.
Unexpected costs.
Faith does not mean ignoring financial reality.
It means facing reality with wisdom without allowing fear to become your master.
Do what you can.
Budget.
Save.
Learn.
Reduce unnecessary expenses.
Build wisely.
Seek opportunities.
Increase your skills.
Ask for counsel when needed.
But after you have done what you can, refuse to spend every night mentally calculating disasters that have not happened.
Pray:
“Lord, give me wisdom to steward what I have and faith to trust You for what I need.”
Your security ultimately rests deeper than a number in an account.
Trust God With the Version of You That Does Not Exist Yet
This entire journey has been about becoming.
And becoming means you are still unfinished.
There may still be habits you are working on.
Fears you are confronting.
Areas where confidence is growing.
Dreams you are learning to pursue.
Boundaries you are learning to maintain.
Parts of your identity God is still healing.
You don’t have to know exactly who you will be five years from now.
You simply need to remain surrendered to God today.
The woman you will become is being shaped by the choices you make now.
Every prayer.
Every act of obedience.
Every boundary.
Every time you choose forgiveness.
Every time you choose discipline.
Every time you get back up.
Every time you trust God instead of fear.
You are becoming.
And God is not finished.
Your Future Is Not Defined by Your Past
Sometimes fear about the future comes from remembering the past.
Because something went wrong before, we assume it will happen again.
Because someone hurt us before, we expect everyone to hurt us.
Because a business failed, we fear trying again.
Because a relationship ended, we fear loving again.
Because we made poor decisions, we question whether we can make wise ones now.
But your past is a teacher.
It is not a prophet.
What happened yesterday does not have authority to determine tomorrow.
God can give you wisdom where you once lacked it.
Discernment where you were once naive.
Boundaries where you once had none.
Confidence where you once lived in fear.
Maturity where you once reacted emotionally.
Your future does not have to repeat your past.
God is doing a new work within you.
Stop Asking for the Whole Map
Sometimes we tell God:
“Show me exactly how this is going to work, and then I’ll trust You.”
But that isn’t really trust.
Trust often means taking one step without knowing the next ten.
God may not show you the entire journey because today’s obedience is enough.
Make the phone call.
Write the first page.
Submit the application.
Create the budget.
Start saving.
Have the conversation.
Take the class.
Rest.
Wait.
Say yes.
Say no.
Whatever God has clearly placed before you, do that.
Then allow tomorrow’s instructions to arrive tomorrow.
Give God Permission to Surprise You
Sometimes we become so attached to our own plans that we leave no room for God to do something unexpected.
But some of life’s greatest blessings arrive differently than we imagined.
The unexpected friendship.
The opportunity you didn’t pursue.
The new direction.
The dream that evolved into something better.
The closed door that eventually led somewhere else.
The season you never planned that changed you forever.
Do not make your vision of the future so narrow that you fail to recognize God’s hand when He answers differently.
Pray boldly.
Plan wisely.
Dream courageously.
But leave room for God to surprise you.
Reflection Questions
Spend some quiet time with God today and consider:
- What part of my future am I most tempted to worry about?
- Is there something I have been trying to control instead of surrendering to God?
- What dream do I need to place back into God’s hands?
- Have I interpreted a delay or closed door as evidence that God has forgotten me?
- Am I comparing my timeline with someone else’s?
- What family concern do I need to surrender to God?
- What practical responsibility can I take today instead of worrying about tomorrow?
- What is the next faithful step God may be asking me to take?
- Can I trust God enough to accept a future that looks different from the one I originally imagined?
Sit with that final question for a moment.
True surrender is not merely saying:
“God, bless my plan.”
It is saying:
“God, lead my life.”
Today’s Affirmation
My future is safe in God’s hands. I do not need to know every detail because I know the One who goes before me. I surrender my plans, dreams, family, finances, and unanswered questions to God. I will plan with wisdom, walk by faith, and trust His timing, knowing that He is faithfully directing my steps.
Today’s Action Step: Write God a Letter About Your Future
Take a page in your journal and begin with:
“God, this is what I have been worrying about…”
Write honestly.
Tell Him what you hope for.
What you fear.
What you don’t understand.
What you are waiting for.
What you desperately want to work out.
Then write:
“God, this is what I am placing in Your hands…”
List everything you need to surrender.
Finally write:
“The next faithful step I can take is…”
Choose one thing.
Not ten.
One.
Do what belongs to you.
Then trust God with what belongs to Him.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for already being present in every tomorrow I have yet to see. Thank You that nothing about my future will ever surprise You and that I never have to walk into an unknown season without Your presence.
Today I surrender my future to You.
I surrender my plans.
My dreams.
My family.
My finances.
My relationships.
My work.
My unanswered prayers.
My hopes.
My fears.
And every question about what comes next.
Forgive me for the times I have allowed uncertainty to become fear and planning to become control.
Teach me to prepare wisely without believing everything depends on me.
When doors close, help me trust Your wisdom.
When answers are delayed, help me trust Your timing.
When my plans change, help me recognize Your direction.
When someone else’s life appears to be moving faster than mine, protect me from comparison and remind me that You are writing a unique story with my life.
Give me courage to take the next faithful step even when I cannot see the entire path.
Help me trust You with the people I love, remembering that Your love for them is even greater than mine.
Give me wisdom to steward my finances responsibly while trusting You as my ultimate Provider.
And Lord, I surrender even the dreams I cherish most.
Shape them according to Your will.
Open the doors that belong in my story.
Close the doors that would lead me away from Your best.
Redirect me when necessary.
Correct me when I wander.
And give me enough faith to believe that Your plans are better than anything I could create without You.
Thank You that my past does not determine my future.
Thank You that I am still growing.
Still learning.
Still healing.
Still becoming.
I do not know everything tomorrow holds, but I know You will be there.
And that is enough.

Day 29: Becoming the Woman God Created You to Be
Tomorrow we will begin bringing the entire journey together.
We will look back at the woman who began Day 1 and recognize something important:
She may not have everything figured out.
She may still be growing.
She may still have prayers waiting to be answered.
But she is no longer standing where she started.
Day 29 will be about recognizing the transformation, embracing the woman God is shaping, and refusing to return to old identities simply because they are familiar.
Remember This Today
You do not need tomorrow’s answers today.
You need today’s grace.
You do not need the entire map.
You need the next faithful step.
You do not need to control every outcome.
You need to trust the God who already sees it.
Plan.
Prepare.
Dream.
Build.
Save.
Learn.
Grow.
But keep your hands open.
Because sometimes God’s greatest blessings come through plans that changed, doors that closed, seasons that lasted longer than expected, and paths we never imagined taking.
Your future is not floating somewhere beyond God’s reach.
It is already known by Him.
So walk forward with hope.
The God who has faithfully carried you this far will not abandon you in the chapters you haven’t lived yet.
